Mikołaj Kałuszyński is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Warsaw.
The supervisors of his doctoral work are Prof. Dariusz Graczyk and Prof. Grzegorz Pieczyński.
The topic of his doctoral thesis regards semi-detached eclipsing binaries and exploring their usability for distance determination which may allow alternative measurement of distance to many nearby galaxies. Semi-detached eclipsing binaries have also constrained size of one of the components which fills its Roche lobe but on the other hand mass transfer between components may introduce several problems and observational artifacts.
Currently, he is involved in several projects which are listed below.
