CONFERENCE SITE AND ACCOMMODATION

The workshop will be held from 7 to 9 June 2017 in Kazimierz Dolny, one of the most beautifully situated little towns in Poland, located ~140 km south of Warsaw.
The venue will be at Folwark Walencja (~900 m from the market square, and ~400 m from the castle ruins) - see the map below.
Participants are expected to arrive on Tuesday 6 June and leave on Saturday 10 June. The workshop will start on Wednesday 7 June 2016 at 9.00 and will end on Friday 9 June with a conference dinner.
The dates proposed are just at the end of spring so we can fully enjoy the place. However, this is also beginning of high tourist season, so we recommend to make hotel reservations as soon as possible. The nearest hotel is 4-star Hotel Kazimierzowka Welness&Spa, however there are many other hotels and pensions available via booking.com.
To best way to go around Kazimierz Dolny is by bike. Ask your hotel about the possibility of renting a bike.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

The conference venue is about 140 km south-east of Warsaw. For an interactive overview of the location, please take a look at the Google map below, where Folwark Walencja and nearby hotels/hostels are marked.

There are a few options to get there.

1. We can arrange for a conference bus leaving from the Nicolaus Copernicus Center on Thursday (6 June) afternoon (~15-15:30) if there will be enough interest. If you are interested in this option, PLEASE LET US KNOW by 8 May.
   
2. Rent a car (self arrangement)
   
3. There is regular bus service between Warsaw and Kazimierz Dolny, and the ticket cost ~50 PLN provided by 2 bus companies: Trans Bus Express and Halobus; both leaving from stops near Warsaw Central Station almost every hour between 7:30 am and 9 pm, and the tickets are 25-50 PLN. Depending on the option, it takes 2.5-3.5 hours to get to Kazimierz Dolny.
   Bus stops are in walking distance form each other and from tourist attractions in the centre of Warsaw. If you are not in a hurry, you can drop your luggage at the Central Station and do sightseeing.
   
   
   
   
   
4. From Warsaw Chopin airport:
   A direct bus from the airport to Kazimierz Dolny, service by Trans Bus Express (website is in Polish only), leaves at 4:30 pm from bus stop next to the train station "Warszawa Okęcie", takes 3 h 40 min and the ticket is about 50 PLN.
   You can get to the city centre by fast train SKM, S2 and S3, and leave at Warsaw Central station (S3 service) or adjacent Warsaw City Centre station (S2 service) where Trans Bus Express and Halobus stops are located.
   Taxi is the fastest but also the most expensive option. Please take a taxi from those waiting outside the arrival hall (they must have name of the taxi company and phone number). We recommend SUPER TAXI which can be found at the TAXI stop next to the exit from the ARRIVAL TERMINAL A or contact the people at the SUPER TAXI Stand at ARRIVAL TERMINAL A. They accept VISA and most other credit cards. DO NOT ACCEPT any cars offered by people inside the arrival hall. Taxi to Kazimierz Dolny will take about 2 hours and should cost about 400-500 PLN.
   An alternative is Uber which should cost about 220-300 PLN.
