Tilaksingh Pawar is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Toruń and a scholar at the Geoplanet Doctoral School.

His master's thesis concerned hot subdwarfs in eclipsing binaries. It has been prepared under the supervision of dr Veronika Schaffenroth (Uni-Potsdam, Germany) as a part of the EREBOS project.

The supervisor of his doctoral dissertation is Prof. Krzysztof Hełmniak.

Currently, Tilaksingh Pawar’s research is focused on eclipsing binary stars under the "Comprehensive Research with Echelles on the Most interesting Eclipsing binaries (CREME)" project at CAMK.

Research interests:
  • photometric and spectroscopic analysis of eclipsing binaries with pulsating stars,
  • estimating the fundamental stellar parameters in eclipsing binaries with pulsating stars with high accuracy to validate and improve theories of stellar structure and evolution.

Degrees and titles:
  • 2020: M.Sc. in Astrophysics, University of Potsdam, Potsdam (Germany),
  • 2017: B.Sc. in Physics, Fergusson College, Pune (India).
