Sarthak Choudhary is a Ph.D. candidate at the Particle Astrophysics Science and Technology Center (AstroCeNT), a unit of Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Warsaw, and a scholar at the Geoplanet Doctoral School.

The supervisor of his Ph.D. dissertation is Dr. Marcin Kuźniak.

His doctoral work focuses on optimization of light collection and sensitivity study of liquid Argon Dark Matter detectors. He is working on characterization of wavelength shifters to be used in such detectors. Additionally, he is also contributing to development of tools for separating possible WIMP (Weakly Interacting Massive Particles) signals from background using the Pulse Shape Discrimination technique.

Research interests
  • direct dark matter searches,
  • photon detection in liquid argon detectors,
  • optical properties of matter at cryogenic temperatures,
  • application of machine learning in fundamental sciences.

Degrees and titles
  • 2019: M.Tech. in Astronomical Instrumentation, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore (India).
  • 2016: B.Tech. in Electronic Instrumentation and Control Engineering, YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad (India).
