Ayush Moharana is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Toruń.

Prof. Krzysztof Hełminiak is the supervisor of his doctoral research.

His main scientific interests cover the following fields:
  • Evolution of Tight Triple Systems (the outer star revolves around an inner binary system with a period of fewer than 1000 days) with an Eclipsing Binary (EB) component,
  • Spectroscopy of multiple systems,
  • Modelling EBs,
  • Time-series photometry.

His previous research focused on hot populations in globular clusters. He worked with UV observations from the Indian space observatory, AstroSat.

Currently, he is also involved in the SOLARIS project, led by prof. Maciej Konacki. As a part of the SOLARIS project, he developed a photometric pipeline for its network of telescopes.
