Ruchi Mishra is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Warsaw.

Professor Włodzimierz Kluźniak supervises of her doctoral research.

In her doctoral work, she concentrates on understanding disk and atmosphere around stars by using advanced computational codes:

  • Pluto - Newtonian code .
  • KORAL - GRMHD (General Relativistic Radiation Hydrodynamics) code.
She is also working on black hole simulations relevant to recent Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) observations.

Research interests
  • computational astrophysics with particular reference to accretion disk and atmosphere around stars,
  • the flow dynamics in a thin accretion disk,
  • backflow in the disk where the flow of matter is away from the central accretor in the disk mid-plane.

Degrees and titles
  • 2018: Integrated Masters in Physics, Central University of Tamil Nadu (India),
