Gonzalo Ignacio Rojas García is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK) in Warsaw and a scholar at Geoplanet Doctoral School.


He works under the supervision of Prof. Dariusz Graczyk from CAMK Toruń.


His doctoral project regards the determination of fundamental physical parameters and distances for late-type long-period eclipsing binaries located in the Large Magellanic Cloud.


Gonzalo is a part of the Araucaria team working on the cosmic distance scale and is also involved in OCA (Observatiorio Cerro Armazones) project.


Research interests
  • binary stars and the characterization of stellar components within binary configuration, as well as their evolution process,
  • instrumental astronomy in the optical-infrared wavelengths.
