Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center in Warsaw, Poland calls for applications for a PhD student research scholarship within the OPUS grant ''Relativistic models of viscous neutron stars”, nr 2019/33/B/ST9/00942, led by dr. hab. Brynmor Haskell and financed by the National Science Centre. The scholarship is available for 6 months, for graduate students with a bachelor degree and PhD students in astronomy, physics or a related field, with a good knowledge of General Relativity and experience in modelling neutron stars. Scope of work includes the theoretical analysis of the relativistic multifluid equations to obtain the dissipative limit and adaptation of the formalism to a form well suited for numerical implementation.
The stipend amount is 5000 PLN gross, before taxes, monthly. Additional allowance for travel and computer equipment is available.
