Lorenzo Gavassino has been awarded the 2026 George E. Valley Jr. Prize by the American Physical Society (APS). He received the prize “for contributions to the theory of relativistic viscous fluid dynamics that resolved longstanding issues concerning the relation between stability and causality.”
Lorenzo Gavassino was a PhD student at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (CAMK PAN) in Warsaw from 2018 to 2022. He obtained his doctoral degree at CAMK in 2022 under the supervision of Brynmor Haskell.
