Lorenzo Gavassino awarded George E. Valley Jr. Prize of APS for 2026

Lorenzo Gavassino was awarded George E. Valley Jr. Prize of the American Physical Society for 2026. The Prize was given to him "for contributions to the field of relativistic viscous fluid dynamics that settled longstanding questions about the relation between stability and causality."

 

Lorenzo Gavassino was PhD student at CAMK, PAN, Warsaw in the years 2018-2022. He has got his degree from CAMK in 2022. His supervisor was Brynmor Haskell. 

 

Attached, you can find the ceremony of the Valley prize, which was awarded to Lorenzo by the American Physical Society, and the official honors video. In his acceptance speech Lorenzo remembers warmly the time he spent at the Copernicus Center.
