Sixty years ago Polish Academy of Sciences founded an Astronomy Unit, which twenty years later was transformed into the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center (NCAC). To celebrate this double anniversary, we organize a conference highlighting the research done at NCAC and outlining our future scientific ventures.
The jubilee is also an opportunity to rememeber that the headquarters of NCAC were erected with a substantial participation of U.S. National Academy of Sciences. The American contribution was made possible thanks to the joint action of Polish and American astronomers. Let the anniversary review of NCAC activities be a homage paid to their efforts.
The confererence will be held on on June 9th-10th 2016, at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw, ul. Bartycka 18.
