Announcement for a PhD position in superfluid neutron stars

The Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center invites applicants for a PhD programme in astronomy and astrophysics leading to a PhD degree. The project is related to the development of general relativistic models of superfluid hydrodynamics with applications to pulsar glitch models. Research will be carried out under the supervision of dr hab. Brynmor Haskell.

Candidates should have a masters degree in astrophysics or an equivalent subject. Experience in neutron star physics and in modelling superfluids in general relativity will be an advantage.

Applicants should provide their complete application documents including their correspondence and e-mail address, a copy of their masters degree, of their course marks, and a work plan for the first year of studies (agreed with dr Haskell; contact: bhaskell@camk.edu.pl) by December 21th, 2018. Applications should be sent in pdf format to: phdstudies@camk.edu.pl. Detailed information on the form and contents of the application is given in the Attachment No 1 to the Regulations of NCAC Doctorate Studies in the web page.
